By their own admission, Amy and Jason did not have the greenest of intentions for their June 2008 wedding. But they loved these DIY centerpieces we featured so much, they couldn’t resist injecting a bit of recycled style into their Raleigh, North Carolina nuptials. Believe it or not, these were created by using vintage and used items! Amy and her good friend Ellie (whose design blog, Mint, we love) traveled to flea markets and thrift stores to find candelabras, candlesticks, teacups and unique fabrics to put the whole look together. From finding the right pieces to assembling all 21 centerpieces, the end result was worth all the hard work (the money Amy saved didn’t hurt, either). “It was going to be a really meaningful day, so meaningful that I thought it—or Jason, rather—deserved all I could give,” says Amy. It just goes to show that personal touches like these don’t just help the environment, but also make your wedding, well, your wedding.
